Patches

Patches.  A small piece of material affixed to another, larger piece to conceal, reinforce, or repair a worn area, hole, or tear.

This bag is called a “mondo bag”.  My sister introduced me to this carry all bag.  She is a quilter.  She had made one for herself, I saw it and fell into crazy for it!  She said I could make one so I went to her house and for 2 days I worked with the materials and pattern.  With her help, guidance, and expert instruction plus a little machine work I completed this bag. I am thrilled with the results.

I started thinking about my bag.  I see in it the material purposefully chosen, squares so neatly cut and arranged, and a lovely, happy, useful bag that I constructed with help.

This is how my life has turned out to this point,  A lovely, happy, useful bag that I constructed with help.

You see my life was not always this happy nor useful.  With the passage of time in all of my learning, contemplation, releasing, composting, and practice I have been able to fashion together the lessons, the beautiful experiences, the memories, the healing into a lovely, useful container for my Spirit.
